IMAGINARY TIME
I remember well the imaginary time
We sat by the river and watched the water flow by
We watched as the sun fell out of the sky
Bars opened for people to lose their minds
Casinos welcomed all those with money to lose
Round the world sailers set off from the land
Workers queued up for work cash in hand
I remember well the imaginary time
Poets and preachers set out their stalls
Politicians and punters prayed for good luck
Those from the past arrived in the present
Asking themselves why they were sent
I remember well the imaginary time
We sat by the river and watched the water rise
We watched as the sun fell out of the sky
The day started well just a little light rain
Nothing to indicate a storm or a gale
The lunch was good and the dinner looked fine
The night never came as we sat down to dine
I remember well the imaginary time
Everything changed in the blink of and eye
History was wiped from the slate on the wall
Those among us who knew went on our way
Thoes who did not dissapeared into a new day
I remember well the imaginary time
We sat by the river and watched the water go by
We watched as the sun fell from our view
I remember well the imaginary time.
