IMAGINARY WINE

I remember well the imaginary wine

We watched the sun fall as we sat down to dine

The plantation of vignes covered the hillsides

as the caress of a lovers hand

I remember being serving the imaginary wine

Clinking glasses, laughing

Watching the workers among the vignes

Gathering grapes to assemblel our vintage

Red, robust of good age

I remember well that imaginary time

Studying its redness as  we sat  down to dine

Tasting its age, its history it bonheure

While the sun fell and gave way to the moon

We sat in the chateau regaled with good food

Time and conversation  blurred into the night

I remember well that imaginary wine

Served from the maitres own hand

It history explored from grape to bottle

By mouth and ear and voice and mind

In the region where it is the norm

To dance and talk and  sing till dawn

Oh yes I remember well that robust red wine
