Just returned from two months in Chiang Mai, a week in Kuala Lumpur, and a week in the Divided Kingdom

As this is not a travel blog, I’m saying no more about these trips other than that I maintained the writing discipline well in Chiang Mai, but not so for the shorter stays

This was to be expected, and good to have a short break

So now, it’s back to the old routine, the routine that has enable me to deliver the Fitzroy series

I now think that I have enough content to complete the project

This is significant as, for the first time, the end of the project is coming into sight

Not in an abstract sense, but for real, and this then begs the question, what will I do next

What beckons after the project that has been my creative raison d’etre for several years

I think it unlikely that I will produce another seven volumes, but you never know

I have several other ideas floating about in my head, Fitzroy and non-Fitzroy

But the truth, right now I have no idea

I will be sad that the project has ended, but glad that it is compete

So, for now best not to dwell on these things, but to hit the keyboard

Get it finished

This is the time to start structuring the content

Weed out the weak stuff

Rein in the vagabond, put on a different hat

A different attitude required

I can no longer afford the luxury of dashing off a story here, a story there

I have to take back control

That is now my task

To work steadily through the content to create books four to seven

To make sense of it all

Then to say, Fitzroy it has been a great journey

Now please can you get off my back

We can go our separate ways…
