The Playroom The crystal ball has spoken, but normality still beckons FITZROY IS INVITED TO GO ON A PICNIC They want me to go on a picnic Said Fitzroy, to any bear who would listen And what kind of picnic might that be Yeh, yeh you’ve got it I, Fitzroy, don’t do stuff like that What did the fortune teller at Balham Fair say You have seen or will see many things Days in the death zone Eons in the lonely depths of space The fall of communism The fall of capitalism Commune with the last tribe on earth Witness the last great rising up You will taste and experience things that most can only dream of You are already a bear of rare intelligence But even more gifts will be bestowed on thee Your greatness account will soon be opened I can see in your beady eyes you are ready But they take me out of the playbox Look me in the eye And ask in silly baby voices Do you want to go on a picnic today And I am in shock at such a proposal I cannot find any words You will meet all the other lovely bears They giggle You may even meet a nice lady bear Giggle, giggle And there will be lots to eat And a treat if you are good And then they start singing some ridiculous song And skip around the room Until Dad walked in Where’s Fitz We have work to do Picked up roughly This is man to bear They ask, what are you doing You have spoilt our game Nothing much, well There is a land speed record to be broken That’s all.
