New Cub On The Block…

OK, back to the story

Quite a way in now, and a new character popped into my head

A philosopher

Now, could be a real philosopher who has studied the subject

Or one of those thinking, philosophical types

Or a normal sort, not afraid to elaborate his or her ideas on life

As someone said at the philosophy group that I attend

Everyone has a philosophy

So got the character, now I need the name, so started playing around with philosophical names

How about Bearistotle, Bearocrates, Bagel, or Blato

Or perhaps Roger Bearcon

I like the sound of Roger Bearcon

Could be a serious philosopher, using the full name, or just Bearcon

Or could be known as Rodge, your person in the street philosopher

Rodge the Philosopher has a nice ring to it

And this gives flexibility in ways that say Bearistotle does not

Perhaps his favourite philosopher will be Bearistotle

So got the character, got the name, now what kind of story will introduce this character

Is this going to be a wise old bear with a white beard

Or some fool who says the first thing that comes into his head

Will he knock on the Mews front door and be invited in

Or will he emerge from the playroom pile of bears, having been there all along

At this point in time I have no idea

But this is how it works for me

This character can open a whole world of possibilities

The entire world of philosophy

As well as serving to reflect on previous stories

Exciting times ahead…
